Moving camera data as well as images
HD-SDI channels are a high-speed link for moving HD images. But the SMPTE 292M spec wasn't designed to carry auxiliary program production data or machine control information, because such embedded metadata could get corrupted when compressed along with the picture element.
Eyeheight provides an answer with its new enigmaHD data transcoder. The device accepts any created machine control data and interleaves it within a “protected” area of 10 user-selectable lines of the HD signal stream, typically at the top or bottom of the image. Eyeheight suggests that enigmaHD can be used to forward camera position/velocity/pan/tilt/lens data to computer graphics interface devices further along the production chain, embed invisible caption data, or securely forward recorded media details, such as aspect ratio, date, time, and clock number. www.eyeheight.com
