InterVideo, Ulead Announce Support for Sanyo Xacti High-Definition Camcorder
May 25, 2006 8:00 AM
InterVideo and its partner Ulead Systems, industry leaders in video, image, and next-generation DVD software, announced a plug-in for the Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1 tapeless camcorder that will allow users to author and burn their high-definition content to HD DVD or standard-definition DVDs. The plug-in works with DVD MovieFactory 5, the newest consumer DVD authoring and burning software.
"The Sanyo Xacti's small size and distinctive styling, together with its superb HD picture quality, makes it a natural choice for trendsetting consumers," says Eldon C. M. Liu, president of Ulead. "DVD MovieFactory 5 now gives them the opportunity to preserve and share high-definition content at its full resolution."
Sanyo's ultracompact Xacti VPC-HD1 camcorder (sold as Xacti DMX-HD1 in Japan), records high-definition MPEG-4 video at 720p to an SD memory card and it can also shoot five-megapixel stills. It has a 10X zoom, a generous 2.2in. OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display and, at just 80x119x36mm, is the world's smallest HD camcorder.
"InterVideo Ulead software has always been the natural choice for users of the Xacti range of camcorders," says Seiichi Oku DI Company of Sanyo. "In fact, we already bundle a special version of DVD MovieFactory 4 with the camera. Now with the new plug-in, users can upgrade to version 5 and get all the high-definition authoring tools."
