Add playout to capture
With today's more powerful hardware, added functionality comes via new software. Digital Rapids' CarbonHD 1.0 software, for example, runs on the company's DRC-5500 capture hardware, adding playout capabilities and DDR functionality such as SD/HD recording and editing.
As a turnkey combo of hardware and software, CarbonHD offers some useful integration, supporting RS-422 deck control, GPI triggers, scheduled recording, and a metadata publishing and logging tool that helps automate and organize production workflow.
Features include ingest of HD or SD SDI video and embedded SDI audio or AES audio, format conversion on the fly during ingest from any format to any format (e.g., 1080i to 720p), and frame-accurate deck capture or crash recording. www.digital-rapids.com
