While the coming of apps that employ metadata has long been heralded, few products have aimed at workflow management. Now, GridIron Software Flow shows one way to make it acceptable: make it automatic and make it graphic. Flow, which runs under both Mac OS X and Windows, offers Real-Time Asset Tracking technology to record all Import/Export, Save/Save As, and Copy/Paste actions in a project. The software understands the file formats used by most pro creative apps, allowing it to maintain relationships between stills, movies, sound clips, fonts, plug-ins, and color swatches that those programs store on local, network, and removable storage devices.
