Production music library VideoHelper has come up with a new term — “narrative sound design” — to describe its mix of sound effects and sound design for its Modules library sound disc collection. Each of the three Modules discs contains more than 100 tracks of abstracted sound design elements that attempt to evoke different moods by building to emotional/sonic extremes, according to the company. The company also says the collection emphasizes the use of nontraditional source material, such as brass players loudly humming into their instruments, to set it apart.
