Edius Broadcast 4.6
Thomson Grass Valley Edius Broadcast NLE system was among the first to support tapeless workflows from camcorders using the Panasonic P2 format. Now, version 4.6 moves towards open-standards-based editing by adding support for the JPEG2000 codec used in the Grass Valley Infinity digital media camcorder. The codec is efficient, and the company says that users will be able to handle multilayer editing even on a laptop by switching to lower resolutions on the fly. This new version of Edius Broadcast is also the first NLE to implement Sony's Simple Access Mode (SAM), which allows low-res video to be used along with high-resolution audio.
