Ellipse for Mac OS X
Studio Network Solutions moves further into the storage hardware market with the Ellipse HBA (host bus adapter). Employing a 4Gbps Fibre Channel connection, the card handles uncompressed HD and 2K-resolution files, with the promise of no data or frame dropouts courtesy of the latest in read-ahead and write-caching techniques that are said to minimize transmission glitches. The HBA for Mac OS X is available in single-, dual-, and quad-port PCIe configurations for Intel- and PowerPC-based Macs. There's also a PCI-X version available for PowerPC.
