Brand new on the I/O front: MOTU announces a powerful HD/SD video production suite based around its new interface hardware, the V3HD. Capture/playback options include compressed HD and uncompressed SD via HD/SD-SDI, component HD, DVI, HDMI, and NTSC and PAL in standard analog formats. For compressed HD editing, the 2RU box captures 720p, 1080i/p, and 1080PsF via FireWire and converts it to DVCPRO HD for use in Apple Final Cut Pro (for Mac users) or Adobe Premiere Pro (PC users only). The V3HD offers front-panel control, machine control, timecode support, pulldown, A-to-D, and up/downconversion. The V3HD's extensive audio I/O and mixing capabilities reflect MOTU's renowned strength in hardware—users can mix and monitor audio without a computer connected. The V3HD supports 32 channels of simultaneous audio I/O in configurations too numerous to list.
