Sometimes simple is better. The new Laird Telemedia LTM-DV4X1A FireCut Plus 1394 DV Switcher, for example, doesn't overwhelm you with the many options a broadcaster may require. It just does pretty much what it says: accepts DV IEEE 1394 inputs from up to four DV devices (mix it up with VTRs, cameras, and NLEs), and locks and switches any of the four sources via front-panel pushbuttons.
