Indigo AV mixer

Thomson continues its foray into the pro AV space with the low-priced Indigo AV mixer. The less-than-$12,000 tab for an SD-model switcher would be revolutionary if it came out of Grass Valley's traditional Kayak switcher line. It's safe to say that the company's ProLine products are meant to sell into a much wider market — one that wants products that price in relation to today's less-expensive camcorders and NLEs. The Indigo AV mixer works with analog, digital, SD, and HD video and audio inputs (including embedded audio in SDI and DV streams), plus high-resolution computer inputs. Outputs are available in multiple formats simultaneously, including DVI and SDI for direct drive of displays and projectors, and for digital recording.
