Uninterruptible Power Manager
Clean power is essential to protecting the hardware of a video system, and it can help prevent system lockups and data loss. ETA Systems has added two new Uninterruptible Power Manager models to its line of power conditioners: one for North America (60Hz) and another for international installations (50Hz). Rated at 240VA, the UPM-240 is appropriate for smaller digital audio and video editing systems. ETA claims that its products are higher-performance than the norm, thanks to a high-quality isolation transformer that allows the UPM line to limit voltage surges to less than 10V on the power conductors. Other products allow 300V-400V surges, according to ETA.
