If you're involved in producing for live broadcast over IPTV channels or even plain old webcasting, you'll want to check out the latest Streamz Live encoders from Digital Rapids. The Canadian company has spent a number of years developing its dedicated live-streaming platforms; the new batch of Streamz gear looks to keep up with all the different codec markets out there. Housed in a 1RU design, the four new models offer SMPTE VC-1, H.264, On2 Technologies' VP6-based video for Adobe Flash 8, and MPEG-2. Bundled along with the encoders: Digital Rapids Broadcast Manager software for enterprise-level management, remote control, status monitoring, and fault tolerance.
