While the math behind better image quality can be difficult to grasp, one basic rule holds: Having more bits per color channel yields a better, more natural result. That's the concept at work behind Buena Software's Au Naturel. The plug-in works with Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, Autodesk Combustion, and other programs. The software allows you to work on your footage in a 32-bit-per-channel, floating point RGB color space, which means you'll get more natural-looking results when compositing, blurring, or otherwise altering your footage.
