It seems you can't get around the fact that the Red Digital Cinema Red One camera controls a hunk of the “what's hot” market, with production- and post-oriented companies rolling out gear to work with it. Boxx does its bit with redBoxx — which was specifically created to allow for viewing of 4K footage shot with the Red One at 2K res in realtime with full debayering, without going through the time and expense of scanning and transcoding. An updated system, shown at Siggraph 2008, features Assimilate's new Scratch Cine software package for digital-intermediate work.
