While they require a little knowledge of Ethernet to set up, a network-attached storage device is a good solution to cleaning up an NLE or graphics workspace because you can move drive arrays away from workday surroundings. The do-it-yourself package features a 5.25in. drive enclosure that converts a 3.5in. ultra ATA hard drive into a NAS device, which can function as a network or data backup server. While it supports various flavors of Windows desktops as well as Windows servers, there's no need to learn about IP addresses: Its auto-discovery feature adds the NAS device to any attached clients after it's connected to the network.
