Panasonic continues to push the versatility of its P2 format. The AG-HPG20 portable recorder/player is built from a previous-generation version, but it adds AVC-Intra capability — the company's high-end master-quality 10-bit, 4:2:2 video codec. The small, lightweight (about 2.5lbs.) deck allows you to play back and review P2 cards on its 3.5in. LCD screen, manage clip files and metadata, use its HD-SDI input to record content from a wide range of Panasonic and non-Panasonic cameras, and back up data onto hard-disk drives via a USB 2.0 port.
