Working with temporary digital signage usually means contending with cables snaking to and fro, but businesses face charges if they opt for permanent installation. A new generation of wireless HD transmitters, however, makes it increasingly possible to leave all of that behind. One example: Avocent's latest model of its Emerge MPX extender series, the MPX1500T HD multipoint extender transmitter. Something like a long-range video splitter without wires, the MPX1500T transmitter adds new capabilities for centrally managing the MPX extender and attached devices over the Internet — such as turning displays on or off.
