This one-week intensive course takes students through the process of creating their own documentary on one of San Francisco's world-famous neighborhoods. Topics include documentary preproduction, the organic documentary approach, hands-on DV camera use and tips, professional lighting, DV editing with Apple Final Cut Pro, and DVD making with Apple iDVD. Class time is 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and there is a $25 equipment fee.

Covering intermediate to advanced levels of editing, motion graphics, and audio sweetening with Apple Final Cut Pro (FCP), this hands-on workshop is recommended for veteran FCP editors who want to take their editing skills and knowledge to the next level. Students will have access to a G5 Power Macintosh and cinema display for the duration of the workshop and will receive a copy of Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro 6 Beyond the Basics. Another workshop will be offered in Ann Arbor, Mich., Feb. 27-29.
