More control
The shooter market has embraced small, rugged hard drive recording units, which either attach to camcorders or can be carried separately. Nnovia's QuickCapture A2D is a good example. Claimed to be the first and only portable analog/digital video recorder, the A2D also helps shooters bridge the gap between legacy analog video cameras and today's digital video equipment. Now, ProCon has come up with RS-232 control products to expand that device's capabilities. The Record/Play Controller ($199) delivers play/pause or record/stop control functions to the entire QuickCapture A2D line. The 4 Button Controller ($299) consolidates functions such as next/previous bin, freeze frame, and record stop/start, while the QuickCapture PIR ($199) employs infra-red to trigger camcorders on and off.
