Boost SATA Bandwidth

Speedy graphics garnered the most attention as the first workstations with next-gen high-speed PCI Express (PCIe) connections debuted earlier this year. Now, storage gets its due with NetCell's Revolution three- and five-port SATA storage processing board. The card uses a single-lane (1X) PCIe slot, which increases throughput to more than 60 percent when compared with a 32-bit PCI slot, according to the company. The board also enables hardware RAID-0, -1, and -3, and JBOD storage arrays. NetCell also employs its SyncRAID technology to deliver a straightforward plug-and-play simplicity since it doesn't use a driver when installing to Windows XP, 2000, and 2003 environments, as well as easier integration into Linux environments. www.netcell.com
