If you move back and forth between field production and the studio, the new generations of portable USB drives are pretty handy. Fabrik has a slick approach with its SimpleTech-branded Signature Mini USB 2.0 Portable Drive family. Introduced at this month’s CES show, the petite, colorful drives—styled by Italian design house Pininfarina (known for such posh car designs as the Ferrari and the Maserati)—range up to 320GB. While the market is awash with suitable alternatives, the company includes a free 2GB account to Fabrik Ultimate Backup, which enables both local backup to the drive as well as storage on the Fabrik website.
