Faster backups
When FireWire debuted, its speed was sufficient for porting video from camcorders to workstations, but bandwidth-hogging procedures such as disk backup still hit limits. Now Maxtor's OneTouch II drive with a FireWire 800 interface offers a speedier solution. Although the drive theoretically delivers up to 800Mbps, even its real world throughput rates provide a jump in performance, aided by a 16 MB buffer. I/O connections include FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB 2.0 interface. Maxtor's DriveLock adds security, while EMC Dantz Retrospect Express HD software enables simple backup and restores.
