When HD DDRs first came to market, their high data rate precluded much processing beyond the basics. The pioneering electronics didn't have much headroom to do anything other than playback. Now, with an updated version of Doremi's V1-HD server, users gain capabilities such as time delay and slow motion for sports. Using JPEG2000 compression, the deck records HD-SDI and SDI video, allowing it to function as an HD DDR replacement — even for 2K digital cinema playback.
