MillimeterCommandSoft Launches the SwitchMaster SAN Configuration Utility

CommandSoft, a leading developer for shared storage solutions, recently announced the SwitchMaster product line, offering customers a SAN configuration utility for QLogic 5xxx series switches that allows for proper configuration of the SAN fabric whether the customer uses CommandSoft’s FibreJet or third-party SAN management solutions such as Apple’s XSAN, Studio Network Solutions SANmp, or Tiger Technology’s MetaSAN. SwitchMaster ensures proper SAN operation by properly configuring and maintaining the correct Fibre Channel fabric port and zone settings.
The $99.95 utility handles workflow-specific settings in the fabric to avoid issues such as video frame drops. Each port must be configured properly for its storage type and its computer OS and HBA type.
SwitchMaster is independent of the underlying SAN management solution used, so it is applicable to any SAN using QLogic 5xxx series switches.
