Sonnet Technologies Fusion F3

RAID arrays are turning up everywhere, so it's not strange to see a trend toward more stylish housings that will allow the devices to fit well in an edit suite or recording studio. That's the tack Sonnet Technologies takes with its Fusion F3 RAID storage system, which houses dual 3.5in.-SATA drives to create a 1TB, 2TB, or 3TB array.
Enclosed in a slick aluminum-and-steel case, each of the Fusion F3's drives sits in its own shock-isolation sled to eliminate vibration-related problems. Cross-coupled vibration can be overlooked as a problem source, which in turn can lead to difficult to diagnose soft-error-induced skipped frames in video capture and playback.
The system's quad interface provides an eSATA interface (with claimed sustained read/write transfer rates of up to 200MBps), FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB 2.0.
