If you work in sports or news production, wireless audio is a given. But often, an IFB (interruptable frequency broadcast, or talkback) system is part of the kit, because camera and audio operators need to keep in touch with directors and producers. Because that adds to the amount of separate gear you need to haul around, Zaxcom has come up with one solution in its TRX990 wireless microphone tranceiver system. The setup integrates an IFB receiver directly into the body of the wireless transmitter, along with a 48V phantom power supply and walkie-talkie.
