4080-BM
Despite many advances in case compositions and electronics, lavalier microphones often still suffer from noise caused by the talent’s movements. Denmark-based DPA Microphones says it has solved the problem via a unique cable wrap used with its new miniature cardioid DPA 4080-BM, launched at AES 2007. Designed to be body-mounted approximately 9in. from the mouth, DPA 4080 acoustically pre-equalizes the mic and uses a 4dB presence boost, both of which improve speech intelligibility and definition. Included is a premounted pop filter with an integrated shock mount, which allows the mic to be easily turned in any direction to obtain the best sound.
