Create REEL IMPRESSIONS at the 2009 NAB Show

The NAB Show and Reel-Exchange.com present REEL IMPRESSIONS 2009—a joint partnership to showcase the projects created by industry professionals using products they’ve seen or purchased as a result of attending the NAB Show. REEL IMPRESSIONS could show your reel in a big way—on a 24ft. silver screen in a
state-of-the-art 300-seat digital theater in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center during the 2009 NAB Show.

After a successful debut last year, REEL IMPRESSIONS 2009 will feature four different showcases: Cinematography, Editing/Visual Effects, Animation, and Student Work.

More than 100,000 attendees from 167 countries will have the opportunity to see the incredible shots, cuts, and creations you have produced. REEL IMPRESSIONS is open to all content creators who work with tools they purchased or were influenced to purchase at the NAB Show.

Submitted videos will be posted and promoted on , , and after the show at .

Follow the simple submission guidelines and your work could be credited and displayed at the 2009 NAB Show—the world's largest electronic media show covering the development, management, and delivery of professional video, audio, and filmed content across all mediums.

The REEL IMPRESSIONS Showcases will be presented Thursday, April 23, 2009 in the 2009 NAB Show Content Theater.

Submission Guidelines


Submission Deadline: Friday, February 27, 2009

To submit your reel, you must first be a Reel-Exchange member. To establish your account, go to and register with the promo code REX009.

Once you have an account, or if you are already a member, select the “REEL IMPRESSIONS” affiliation designation to your Reel-Exchange profile. ()

For 24-ft Content Theater consideration:
Submit a master copy of your reel—PREFERRED FORMAT: 1920x1080i HDCAM (stereo) or 1920x1080i HDCAM-SR (stereo or 5.1) ACCEPTED FORMAT: HD Quicktime in Apple ProRes at 24fps (data disc)—along with a typed list of the camera formats and other hardware/software technology used to make the reel and your Reel-Exchange profile URL. Be sure to designate the showcase for which you would like to be considered: Cinematography, Editing/Visual Effects, Animation, or Student Work.

Reels longer than 3 minutes may be shortened as needed for display at the 2009 NAB Show.

For Online Showcase consideration:
Upload your show reel or video to your Reel-Exchange profile with a “REEL IMPRESSIONS” affiliation. Best practices can be found at reel-exchange.com/videofaq.html.

In either case, you are encouraged to bug/watermark your reel with your company name and/or logo and city. It's not required, but it will help display and credit your work. Email your Reel-Exchange profile url to .

Submission Deadline:
Reel-Exchange profiles MUST be published with a “REEL IMPRESSIONS” Affiliation and a master reel must be received at our Chicago office by Friday, February 27, 2009.
