For those looking for a solid, professional media playback device, the new DN-V755 from D&M Professional's Denon brand is a good candidate. Developed based on direct feedback from users and consultants, the DN-V755 network AV player comes with built-in configuration and control software, is remotely accessible via the Web, and has an internal 40GB hard drive. The unit plays 720x480 MPEG-2 up to 10Mbps, MPEG-4 up to 6Mbps, MPEG-1 audio (layer II, III), and 16-bit PCM WAV files (at 32kHz-48kHz). Using the standard file system on a PC or a Mac, all connected DN-V755 units appear as networked hard drives to the computer. Content uploads are drag-and-drop, and an RS-232 port enables onsite system control.
