Dennis Muren on VES Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient Steven Spielberg
Visual effects pioneer Dennis Muren presented Steven Spielberg with his Visual Effects Society Lifetime Achievement Award at the VES gala, commenting that Spielberg pushes his visual effects partners by continually “exposing the trick” behind their work. “He can pre-visual stuff from the three-dimensions we’re used to, plus time, and view everything as movable parts and find the best camera move and the best timing for the sequence,” he explained. Later, Muren discussed his collaboration with Spielberg with millimeter’s Michael Goldman.
