On Monday, April 24, Technical Editor Dan Ochiva met with Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design. Petty discussed the features of Blackmagic’s new DeckLink HD Extreme card, which offers 10-bit SD/HD-SDI with 14-bit digital-to-analog conversion for $995. Grant also shared his views on the recent consolidation in the NLE market and the value proposition for open systems based upon programs like Adobe Premiere Pro and Apple Final Cut Pro.
