Recognizing the fact that today's digital artists need to be familiar with a variety of post-production programs and media formats, the organizers of the NAB Post|Production World Conference have adopted a format that does not restrict conference attendees to a specific number of sessions or to a particular track.

"When someone buys a pass," explains conference chairperson Ben Kozuch, "they can basically go wherever they want. We don't police which rooms they go to. We want them to have the freedom to sit in on a couple of Photoshop sessions, then sit in on an Avid session, then sit in on an After Effects session, if that's what they want to do. That's one of the main benefits of a conference of this size and with such a wide diversity of sessions. People get the chance to experiment a bit and seek out those sessions that best meet their needs and interests."

Registration forms for the NAB Post|Production World Conference can be filled out online at the NAB2004 website, www.nabshow.com.

For NAB members, the price for a five-day conference pass is $695 if purchased prior to April 14. A weekend-only pass costs $495, and might be just the thing for attendees who want to squeeze as many sessions as they can into the two days prior to the opening of the NAB exhibit floor on Monday. Of the 164 sessions being offered at the conference, nearly 100 of them will take place on Saturday and Sunday. A one-day weekday pass is $175.

Non-NAB members will have to pay $100 more for their passes, as will anyone who waits to register for the conference onsite. Discounted passes are available for students.
