Media 100, a leading developer of advanced media systems, has announced Media 100i Version 8 (V8), a powerful OS X-native content design system for professional content creators, broadcast designers and digital media artists. Media 100 has also introduced a fresh new user interface, based on Apple's Aqua interface, and has significantly strengthened its offerings for the OS X platform with new effects creation and sound design capabilities. Media 100i Version 8 will be widely available through the Media 100 worldwide network of value added resellers in early summer, 2002.
"Media 100 is elevating its commitment to the professional content creation market place with the release of Media 100i Version 8. We've engineered V8 from the ground up, with its roots in native OS X code to ensure that our systems take full advantage of the workflow and performance enhancements embedded in OS X," said Mike Savello, vice president of Dual Stream Systems for Media 100.
Media 100i V8, OS X and The Aqua Interface
Media 100i Version 8 was designed with a new driver, middleware and modernized interface architecture to take advantage of OS X and Aqua usability improvements. New feature enhancements in V8 include:
- Effects design enhancements:
Draft composites directly in the timeline using the newly expanded number of graphics layers within Media 100i Version 8. Export composites to Adobe After Effects or other graphics/effects applications for further finishing and bring back directly into the V8 timeline using InstantMedia technology. Access audio tracks and user marks from within Boris FX or Boris RED allowing synchronization of visual effects design to program timeline elements.
- Sound design enhancements:
Audio track mixing and processing has been expanded to support 24 real-time tracks simultaneously. A new master audio track and support for audio reverb and dynamics processing effects have also been added.
In addition to productivity improvements, Media 100i Version 8 includes the highest quality analog video and DV capture, standard in all models. The system's available Serial Digital Interface can capture data as mathematically lossless streams, maximizing image quality and preserving disk space.
