DVX100 Update

Panasonic's AG-DVX100 MiniDV camcorder astonished many, bringing together a high level of component parts, such as Leica optics, with a breakthrough 24fps progressive scan mode, as well as 30p and 60i.

Now, the new AG-DVX100A adds improved picture control, auto focus in progressive shooting modes, increased gain, an easier-to-use zoom and focus ring control (better tactile feedback), a slower zoom speed range, and a compressed 16:9 mode. Picture quality gains with RGB separation optimization in the camera head and with a reformulated “high-performance” lens that uses low-dispersion glass. That improved gamma processor for RGB signals includes three film-style settings: CINE-LIKE-D (creates a wider dynamic range), CINE-LIKE-V (plays with the luminance), and B.PRESS (creates a stronger black contrast). The new 16:9 Squeeze Mode works with an optional 16:9 conversion lens. www.panasonic.com/broadcast
