Dulce offers up to 64TB of fast RAID storage
Off-the-shelf storage systems are getting more capable than ever. Some now offer expandability usually only available in high-end offerings. Dulce SystemsPro FC — which works with systems running Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux — offers built-in expansion along with a dual-port 4Gb Fibre Channel (FC) RAID controller. The two FC ports can be striped together to deliver a claimed data rate of 550MBps. Dulce says that even using a single Fibre Channelport, editors can expect to maximize their FC interface up to its limit at 370MBps sustained throughput, even when the storage is nearly full.
The RAID Manager app can configure the Pro FC for multiple workstations via LUN mapping, so you don't need to buy a pricey FC switch if youonly have two workstations sharing the connected storage. According to thecompany, the Pro FC built-in expander enables cost-effective storageexpansion by daisy-chaining a Pro FX to the Pro FC to add up to 16 additional drives to the array's capacity.
