RAID arrays are a given for high-end production. Meanwhile, SATA drives have become favored for their price/performance ratio. Sonnet Technologies brings these together with the release of its eight-drive Fusion R800RAID. The SATA disk-array storage system employs a PCIe RAID host adapter that supports RAID 0, 1, 4 (DVRAID), 5, 10, and 50 configurations, as well as JBOD. The drive modules are hot-swappable.
