Improved storage options

Hard drive sizes increase constantly. The electronics and firmware have to keep up to date, too. This is accomplished with the latest update to the Facilis TerraBlock 3.0. A new iSCSI server module enables 1Gb connections to Ethernet clients. Meanwhile, similar management tools and virtual-volume access are available for the company's faster Fibre Channel products. The system's native virtual-volume feature offers a higher maximum capacity of 8TB for most Windows clients, as well as for some OS X and 64-bit clients (claimed as unique for postproduction users). Even minor details get attention: Both Windows and OS X clients have the ability to schedule background updates to read-only volumes, down to a 1-minute interval. www.facilis.com
