Abel Cine tech delivers upgraded snorkel
No big secret, but with the latest HD camera systems delivering better-than-ever imaging, more commercial and feature production is shifting from 35mm to HD. But one crucial component — specialized high-quality lenses — has been slow to appear.
Abel Cine Tech, along with Munich-based Wolfgang Roessel of CPT, add to the available choices with its HD Scope, claimed as the industry's first Boroscope/Snorkel Lens System designed specifically for 2/3in. B4 mount HD cameras.
Similar to CPT's well-received 35mm T-Rex lens system, the HD Scope offers full 360-degree image rotation and panning for tabletop work, tight spaces, unusual angles, and other effects shots. Even with all of the glass involved in the snorkel and separate lenses (which range from 4mm-13mm), the lens system offers a fast T4 stop. www.abelcine.com
