Face it. With digital rights management turning up everywhere, you'll have to deal with copy-protected HD content at some point when you need to physically transport any final distribution material.

Maxell describes its solution, the Removable Hard Disk Drive iV, as the world's first iVDR-standard removable hard disk drive capable of recording copyright-protected HD content. The glass-fiber plastic cartridge housing offers improved shock resistance over run-of-the-mill drives while withstanding a wide range of ambient temperatures, according to the company.

Maxell's Removable Hard Disk Drive iV is small — it fits in the palm of a hand, while featuring a maximum capacity of 160GB and a data transfer rate of 6.75MBps. The device employs SAFIA copyright protection technology recording onto new iVDR-Secure type 4 media. www.maxell.com
