Easier network rendering
As many will painfully recall, setting up an IP network isn’t always so straightforward. To communicate with other devices on the network, you need to program the new device with such info as the IP address, a subnet mask, a DNS name, and preconfigured search paths.
Luxology smartly decides to sidestep all that with the upcoming major release of Modo 301, its 3D modeling, painting, and rendering software. By incorporating Apple’s Bonjour—an open-standards-based networking technology that’s used by iTunes—Modo 301 users will be able to automatically connect with any Mac or PC for greatly improved rendering throughput.
Setup will be easy because any Mac or PC on the network is automatically detected, while rendering tasks from the artist’s workstation are automatically parceled out to machines that have been placed in a ready-to-render mode. www.modo3d.com
