Twenty-eight filmmakers’ shorts comprised the 2005 showcase at the fifth annual Attack of the 50ft. Reels on Nov. 3 in Los Angeles. Participants shot an entire story on one roll of Super 8 film, then turned in the unprocessed footage and a separately prepared soundtrack. Flicker, an organization dedicated to promoting independent filmmaking, presented the showcase, with founder Norwood Cheek introducing the participants. Sponsors include Kodak and Yale Film and Video.
