3D Modeling Events April 2005

Luxology conducted a series of Modo events at Apple Stores in California and New York. These events, entitled “Rapid 3D Modeling with Modo on OS X,” included demonstrations of Modo, a new subdivision surface and polygonal modeling platform. Luxology’s President, Brad Peebler, discussed the rapid integration of Modo into facilities worldwide to a standing-room-only crowd at the Soho Apple store in New York.


Master Colorist Awards April 2005

At NAB 2005, Da Vinci Systems announced the winning entries for its Master Colorist Awards. Accepting his award in the theatrical release category for “Travelers and Magicians” was 2005 Da Vinci Master Colorist Award recipient Siggy Ferstl (center) with Da Vinci General Manager Bill Robertson (left) and Director of Marketing Tony Fox (right).


MVPA Awards May 2005

The 2005 Music Video Production Association Awards (MVPA) were held May 12 at The Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles. David Naylor and Associates/DNA won top honors, with the Director of the Year award going to Francis Lawrence (pictured onstage) for his work on “Let’s Get It Started” by The Black Eyed Peas, “All Nite (Don’t Stop)” by Janet Jackson, and “What You Waiting For” by Gwen Stefani. Lawrence also took home awards for Best Pop Video of the Year and Best Direction of a Female Artist for the Gwen Stefani video.
