Compact audio kit
With all the proliferating gear that can go on a shoot, it's a plus anytime you can get by with less. Zaxcom keeps down the clutter for audio with Deva Fusion, which combines a mixer, recorder, and a stereo RF transmitter in a single unit. While the device uses a 192kHz digital mixer, Zaxcom's design keeps the user interface simple, more along the lines of current analog field mixers. Features include four mic/line inputs mixed to six outputs, high-pass filter, compressor, delay, 140dB input dynamic range, full-function time code reader/generator, and a four-channel auto mixer. On the Deva Fusion audio can be recorded to a hard drive or Deva Flash Drive. Fusion can also output files directly to an external FireWire-compatible DVD drive without the use of external computers.
Price: starts at $4,995
