New matte box
Bogen Photo adds the sleek FM500 matte box from England-based Formatt to its growing line of production gear. Designed for DV camcorders with small lens front diameters — and internal focusing lenses — the FM500 uses tough aviation-grade aluminum, according to the company. The lightweight device features two 4in.-wide filter stages, one fixed, while the other rotates 360 degrees. The matte box handles any 1mm thick filter ranging up to 4"× 6" The FM500 rig itself rotates on the lens adapter for added flexibility. Also included: a sunshade and an adjustable, removable French flag.
