Water cannons, fans, steam shooting from the ceiling, and green slime confetti were only a part of the show that also included video and projected images designed to reproduce the experience of a theme-park ride film.

AV Concepts (Tempe, Ariz.) created “The Ride” using an ultra-wide projection screen (70'×17') with a 4:1 aspect ratio (1920×480 pixels). Vista Systems' (Phoenix, Ariz.) Montage system simplified productions and blended a combination of resolutions and formats of live and prerecorded video with graphics. The Montage processed overlapping keys from multiple sources including six Macintosh G4s, two QuVIS high-resolution hard drive players running at 1080i, two Doremi video hard drives, and four Sony D35W cameras. Five sets of double-stacked Christie Digital projectors created the image on screen.
