Compression upgrade
Unlike some compression tools, Sorenson Media started its Squeeze series with the idea of making the simplest point-and-click interfaces available, while building in highly optimized tools such as variable bit rate encoding. Now, Sorenson's latest versions — Squeeze 3.1 for the Mac and Squeeze 3.5 for Windows — add improved file compatibility. Squeeze 3.5 for Windows Compression Suite, for example, includes support for MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 (including Visual Simple Profile and Visual Advanced Simple Profile), Apple QuickTime, Macromedia Flash, RealNetworks RealMedia 9, and Microsoft Windows Media 7, 8, and 9 formats. Both versions allow for saving and reusing of video and audio filter settings, speeding batch processing.
