N.Y. Post "Boutique" Anyone familiar with New York's high cost of living can appreciate this :30's humor, which Compulsive Pictures taps into with sly finesse. "Boutique" features a stylish urban outfitter who extols the virtues of New York's fashion-maven must-haves - thousand-dollar shoes, costly handbags, and, of course, that "yummy, yummy" cashmere. All of which will run up a bill significantly more bloodletting than the paper's mere 25 cents. Agency: Deutsch, New York; Production: Compulsive Pictures, New York; Director/DP: Tony Ober; Executive Producers: Jack Turney, Donnald O'Connor; Editors: Nelson Leonard, Danny Ellen, Editing Concepts, New York; Postproduction: The ANX, New York.

T. Eaton Company "Dilemma/Discovery/Big Finish" The Canadian Sears chain shows panache with this epic spot, detailing the story of an ad exec who must come up with a suitable campaign for a tough department-store client in only 24 hours. She succeeds, creating a delightful musical, which borrows from the over-the-top sensibilities of 1950s Hollywood. The effects and post teams stay successfully nostalgic in transitions, effects, and color palette, both during the musical number and its narrative introduction. Agency: Ammirati Puris, Toronto; Production: The Partners' Film Co., Toronto; Director: Floria Sigismondi; DP: Chris Soos; Producer: Mary Wasson; Visual Effects: TOPIX/Mad Dog, Toronto; Executive Producer: Sylvain Taillon; Producer: Cheyenne Bloomfield; Inferno Artist: Susan Armstrong; Editor: Michelle Czukar, Panic & Bob, Toronto; Colorist: Billy Ferwerda, D.A.V.E., Toronto.
