Electrosonic offers IPTV transport technology

Using the Internet for video transport is becoming more common, but getting foolproof gear that works at a high throughput rate isn't easy. One company with a credible history here, Electrosonic, now offers IP technology that runs up to 3Gbps for transfer of 1920x1080 HD video.

The company says its ES7000 IPTV Transportseries is ideal for live-event video distribution because it offers low delay at higly efficient bit rates. GeneralManager Karl Johnson claims that the ES7000 series can produce image qualities that are equivalent to the JPEG 2000 compression standard at bit rates comparable with MPEG products with very low latency. The units accept SDI or HD-SDI inputs with embedded audio and data and transmit them over LAN or WAN connections. www.electrosonic.com
