AJ-HD1400 VTR
Panasonic's AJ-HD1200A deck was groundbreaking because of its IEEE 1394-based I/O of 100Mbps DVCPRO HD material, which made it a direct HD input device for an Apple G5 or similar FireWire-equipped computer system. Its successor, the AJ-HD1400, retains that functionality and adds comprehensive editing functions. The half-rack AJ-HD1400 includes a built-in cross-converter that allows playback of DV and DVCPRO 25/50 tapes, and simultaneous output of an HD signal. The deck records up to 64 minutes of HD footage on a large or medium tape, and it plays all DVCPRO tapes, as well as DV and DVCAM tapes.
