By the extensive HD coverage used throughout, the Beijing Olympic games became a part of sports-television history as the first beginning-to-end high-definition production. Tandberg Television played a part too by providing its EN8090 MPEG-4 AVC video processor to NBC to handle all of the HD content contribution. Raw video and audio feeds captured at the events were transported from the International Broadcast Center (IBC) in Beijing to NBC's studios for U.S. distribution before any postproduction.
